So it has been a couple of months since our last Faire, and despite the problems we encountered there, I am already getting excited for next year's events. Unfortunately, My Lovely Bride™ would like to only attend a couple of Faires next year, so we can save money and have some time to go camping and do other things during the summer.

I expect her tune will change some the closer we get to Glastonbury (the first event of the year in my area), but we'll see. Officially we will only be attending Sherwood Fantasy Faire and Canterbury Renaissance Faire in 2013... at least at this point.

Anyway, we still have many a month to get through before Faire Season starts again, regardless of if we attend Glastonbury or not, so I'm still looking into ways to add some RenFaire-like fun into the off-season. As I said in a previous article, I have been considering joining a Guild or the Society for Creative Anachronism, and I am leaning heavily towards the SCA now. After looking into both options further, the SCA isn't something we'll be asked to attend all the time, and the members aren't nearly as judgmental as I was told by some. the problem is My Lovely Bride™ isn't nearly as interested in joining a Guild or the SCA as I am, so we're still talking about what we should do.

Which got me thinking... Could I satisfy my RenFaire Jones through other means? I've been looking for RenFaire focused podcasts, and unfortunately, the pickings are quite slim in that venue. Many such podcasts are of the flash-in-the-pan variety, or have suspended operations for the time being. Regardless, I'm going to see if listening to others talk about Ren Faires can help me quell my unnatural desire to dress up in garb and...

Well, that didn't take long. The only two podcasts I could find that seemed to fit the bill both struck out. One was a few people chatting between playing Ren-Faire themed music, and the other was a video podcast of sorts that really had little to do with Ren-Faires at all! Hell, I could do better than that!

... Hmmm...

Wait, nope. My Lovely Bride™ would literally kill me if I started a third podcast! Looks like I need to push harder for us to join the SCA, then.
